Ikalu – Leaf of Release and Spirit Cleansing 🍃
Sweeps the Body • Clears the Mind • Restores Balance
Ikalu is a sacred plant used in Bwiti for energetic cleansing, spiritual purification, and emotional reset. Known for its broad, soft leaves and subtle aromatic profile, Ikalu is traditionally tied in small bundles and used in ceremonies to “sweep” away stagnant energy, fear, or negative influences.
During rituals, Ikalu is:
— Used to brush the body from head to toe to dispel bad spirits
— Burned gently to purify the space and call in clarity
— Infused in water for ritual baths or herbal compresses
— Laid on the chest or stomach of an initiate for emotional grounding
Elders say: “Ikalu listens to the body and answers the soul.” It is especially powerful during iboga integration, helping the initiate to let go of inner noise and come back to center.
External use only. Ceremonial plant.
